A new tradition?

We were married earlier than we had initially planned, as Steve was drafted into the Army with a good possibility of being sent to Vietnam.

After eight months of wedding preparations, the big day arrived. All went as planned until we received the pictures of the wedding. Much to my dismay, the picture of the "throwing of the bouquet" was taken just as the bouquet passed in front of Steve's face, making it appear that his head was made of flowers!

Everyone thought this was hilarious. At the time, I did not see the humor in it.

This summer, the first of our three daughters will marry. I came across this picture recently and find that now I can, after 33 years, view it with the humor that our friends and relatives did then. Who knows? Maybe it will become a family tradition.

(Steve was stationed only as far away as Lawton, Okla.)
